Hebrews - Week Thirty-Six
Hebrews 13:20-25
LIFE GROUP DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
When you finish a long project (a book, a class, a season of life, a home-maintenance task), do you usually feel more relief, sadness, gratitude, or something else? Why?
What’s one promise someone made to you that meant a lot—and why did it feel secure (or insecure)?
READ HEBREWS 13:20-25
The God of Peace. Where do you most feel the “war”—either around you or within you—right now? How does it change your perspective to remember that God is not anxious or conflicted, but rather a God of peace who promises and brings final shalom (peace)?
The Great Shepherd. The sermon pressed the question: Do you really think your struggle is harder than death? What is one situation in your life you might quietly be tempted to believe is beyond Jesus’s power? What would it look like to pray more persistently and confidently this week?
Equipped and Enabled. Where are you currently tempted to say, “I just can’t do this!” (forgive, endure, fight sin, stay faithful, etc.)? How might believing that “if God commands it, he supplies it” fuel your endurance?
Rooted in God’s Glory. Your perseverance is tied to God’s commitment to the glory of his Son. How does it encourage you to know that your endurance is not ultimately resting on the strength of your faith, but on the strength of God’s zeal to glorify Christ?
