READ HEBREWS 13:7-19

  1. Hebrews 13:10-12. Why is it tempting to strengthen ourselves by “foods” (external performance, visible obedience, measurable spirituality)? What are some modern “foods” Christians may be tempted to rely on?

  2. When you feel spiritually confident, what are you usually pointing to? What would it look like to rest consciously in Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice instead of your own spiritual track record?

  3. Hebrews 13:12-13. Why do we instinctively try to “clean ourselves up” before going to Jesus? Which is more common for you: 1) avoiding Jesus when you fail?, or 2) feeling like you don’t need Jesus when you succeed?

  4. Hebrews 13:14. How does remembering that this world is not your lasting city change your perspective? What would it look like to hold this present life more loosely because your true home is secure?

  5. Hebrews 13:15-16. What’s the difference between serving to get something from God and serving because you’ve already received everything in Christ?

  6. Where in your life might God be inviting you to move from self-focused performance to grace-fueled worship and love?
