Hebrews 2:5-9
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Psalm 8:1,9
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:3-4
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet… Psalm 8:5-6

- Imagine the only information you had about Jesus was Hebrews chapter 1, What would be your view of him? - Read Hebrews 2:5-9 and Psalm 8:1-9 
- Look carefully at Hebrews 2:6-7a - the quotation from Psalm 8. How is Jesus - a “son of man” - compared with the angels? Now compare Hebrews 2:6-7a with Hebrews 1:4. What is the full picture of Jesus’ identity? 
- According to verse 8b, what do we “not yet” see? [Note: Him/his in verse 8 refers to all humanity.] According to verse 9, what truth about Jesus can a Christian “see” by faith? [Note: Him in verse 9 refers to Jesus.] 
- Why would verses 8-9 be comforting to suffering Christians? 
- How will our lives look different when we believe that nothing is outside the sovereign control of Jesus Christ? 
- What stops you from believing that nothing is outside the sovereign control of Jesus? What can help you to rest in this truth?
