What’s something in your life that tends to capture your attention or excitement without you even trying (a hobby, news, work, sports, etc.)? Why do you think it has that pull on you?
READ EPHESIANS 1:3-14
The sermon emphasized that everyone’s heart is “tuned” to something. What are some practical signs that reveal what you are functionally worshipping right now? Where do you see your heart drifting away from worshipping God?
Do you tend to live as if God is generous or as if he is holding out on you? How would your daily life change if you truly believed God has already given you everything you need in Christ?
The doctrine of being “chosen” can feel mysterious or even uncomfortable. What questions or tensions do you personally feel around God’s sovereignty in salvation?
How does the truth of election, when rightly understood, bring humility, confidence, or hope?
Adoption gives us access, affection, and an inheritance. Which of these do you most struggle to believe or experience? Why? What would it look like this week to live like you truly from the Father the full affection that Jesus deserves?
