Ephesians - Week 6
Ephesians 2:11-18
LIFE GROUP DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
What’s a rivalry, division, or “us vs. them” dynamic you remember growing up (sports, school, politics, family, etc.)? Why do you think people are naturally drawn toward tribes and rivalries?
READ EPHESIANS 2:11-18
In verses 11-12, Paul twice tells believers to “remember” who they once were apart from Christ. Why do you think spiritual amnesia is such a danger for Christians? What happens in your heart when you forget the grace God has shown you?
The sermon emphasized that our deepest identity is not political, cultural, racial, or social—but “in Christ.” What identities or allegiances are most tempting for you to treat as ultimate? How can we tell when something other than Christ is becoming our primary identity?
What would it look like for our church (or Life Group) to become more “supernaturally strange”—a place where people who normally wouldn’t belong together genuinely love one another?
The sermon challenged us to evaluate whether most of our meaningful relationships are only with people who are very similar to us. What kinds of people are hardest for you to understand, welcome, pursue, or love? What practical steps could you take toward greater unity and hospitality?
Where are you most tempted toward hostility instead of peace right now—online, at home, in politics, or elsewhere? What would it look like to actively pursue peace in that situation this week?
