Creative Collective is defined as......A rarefied space for creatives to engage the Spirit without judgement, only celebration. A space to engage our own artistic processes/souls and each other. A space to understand God within your creative gifting and share that with others.
What to expect: We'll have a circle of chairs. There will be candles and quiet music. We'll take a little time to introduce ourselves, and then we're going to read scripture, listen openly and meditatively. Each time we meet, we will participate in an ancient practice called Lectio Divina. In a modified way, we'll spend a significant amount of time responding to the scripture and whispers of the Spirit creatively, on our own, using the revelation of scripture as a lens, in whatever way we see fit. You will spread out and do your thing.
Create as a process. Create as worship. Create as understanding. Create your way into or out of something.
We'll take time to share how we've engaged creatively at the end of the night. We aren't concerned about what is created; we are concerned with the process, how God spoke to you through your process of creating and trust our experience as truth. We'll take a glimpse into how each of us experiences God in different hues and rhythms.
What to bring: Bring something to write with and on; we'll definitely journal for a few minutes. Bring your chosen creative medium with you. If you paint, bring your paint stuff. If you whittle, bring your whittling stuff. Calligrapher, knitter, creative cartographer... we're supportive of whatever it is you make your own.
Join us every other Monday from 6:30-8:30pm.
Let us know you're coming so we can have a seat prepared just for you. Contact Steve Noell for more information on meeting dates or to RSVP.
